Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., better known as T.I. has been a huge patron for his native city of Atlanta for many years. The bigger his platform has grown, even more actions have been taken to invest back into bettering his community. In fact, he’s even  started a real estate company called Buy Back The Block, to help rebuild his old neighborhood in the Center Hill section of Atlanta.

Last Friday, the Rapper, Actor & Entrepreneur was honored at the  Georgia State Capitol. State Senator, Donzella James applauded T.I. for spearheading several non-profit organizations, including “Harris Community Works”, which helps the disadvantaged. Also, for “The Love of Our Fathers”, which aids people with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

The Hip-Hop Philanthropist has also gained his generous reputation by giving away free Back to School supplies and haircuts, hosting turkey drives during Thanksgiving and paying the for local Walmart shoppers during Christmas Eve.

Lastly, his most notable initiative dates back to 2012. Through the K.I.N.G. Foundation, he launched the “Give Like A King” campaign, in partnership with the Georgia-based Veterans Empowerment Organization (VEO). VEO provides local vets with housing, meals, health care, substance abuse aftercare, mental health counseling and job training/placement assistance. The partnership was started to help and spread awareness on the staggering 300,000 vets who are faced with the challenges of being homeless on any given day.
